Outdoor Ethics

OUTDOOR ETHICS

It is not simply activities for the backcountry, it is an attitude and way of life.

The Boy Scouts of America represents one of the single largest presences in our outdoors, and as such, we can have the single largest impact, either positively or negatively. Our job is to ensure all Northern Star Council members make a difference in outdoor actions; to reduce our impact where-ever and when-ever. One misplaced campfire may not seem to have an impact, but what about 10 or 100 or 1000.  One can not continue to do it the way we always have and expect a different outcome.   Every Troop and Crew needs a LNT Troop Trainer to teach and demonstrate how to follow the outdoor code. Become informed and follow the code to reduce outdoor impacts.

Outdoor Code
As an American, I will do my best to -
Be clean in my outdoor manners.
Be careful with fire.
Be considerate in the outdoors.

Be conservation minded.
