ICA Foodshelf Needs Help..A Scout is Helpful - Monday, June 29, 2009

Subject: ICA NEEDS HELP!

We need help!  Listed below are our upcoming volunteer opportunities.  Please consider volunteering for any number of activities.  HELP ESPECIALLY NEEDED ON JULY 4.  PLEASE CONSIDER DEDICATING 1-2 HOURS TO ICA!  This day is a huge fundraiser for us!

July 4

Kiddie Parade, Downtown Excelsior
Where: Downtown Excelsior
When: 10:30-11:30

In coordination with all of the festivities happening in downtown Excelsior on the 4th, we will be working at the Kid’s Parade.  We will be passing out American flags to all participants in the parade.  Parade set up starts at 10:30 and the entire thing will be over by 11:30 in downtown Excelsior.  This is a short time dedication- short and easy!

July 4

Garbage Pick-up
Where: Downtown Excelsior
Shifts of 4-5 people, 10am, 1pm, 4pm, 11pm


July 18

Hopkins Raspberry Festival, Family Day
Where: Downtown Hopkins
When: 9-4 p.m.

We need volunteers to come and work the ICA booth at the Family Day Fair at the Hopkins Raspberry Festival!  Two- hour shifts can be arranged!  Come and join the fun and help spread the word about ICA!

 

July 19

Hopkins Raspberry Festival, Grande Day Parade
Where: Downtown Hopkins
When: Parade begins at 1 p.m.  Setup time to be determined.

Come and walk in the Raspberry Festival parade and pass out information about ICA!  Anyone have a pick-up truck or trailer we can decorate?  To provide or volunteer- call Sydney! 

July 24

Grill Night at the Cottagewood Store
Where: The Cottagewood Store, Deephaven
When: Setup begins at 5, Grilling starts at 5:30

We need volunteers to come and help us grill and serve a picnic dinner!  Needed: 2-3 Grillmeisters (working the grill), 1-2 expeditors (taking orders and filling plates and handing to guests), 1-2 servers (serving side dishes), 1-2 swat team members (keeping up supplies for grillers and expeditors). 

 

August 1

Tour de Tonka
Where: Minnetonka High School/Race Course

Scout Night with MN Thunder Soccer 8/1/09 - Tuesday, June 09, 2009
Make some noise and be a part of the first ever Minnesota Thunder youth Soccer Clinic for Scouts! On Saturday August 1st at 5:00 pm, the Thunder is putting on a youth soccer clinic for all Scouts ages 6-17 at the National Sports Center in Blaine. Learn and practice your soccer skills with Thunder players before the game! Portions of the Soccer belt loop and pin can be earned during the pregame clinic.  As special bonus, starting goalkeeper Matt VanOekel will be giving a post clinic talk. Matt is an Eagle Scout and will talk about his Scouting experiences and being a professional soccer player. Don't miss this special opportunity! The soccer match vs.. the Portland Timbers then starts at 7:00 pm. After the game join Thunder players on the field for a post game autograph session. Tickets are only $8 and include the clinic, hot dog, soda, chips and general admissionticket to the match. Calendar pages have been updated through June 2010 for Pack and troop planning - more info to be filled in as  it becomes available.

New Den Chief Guidelines and Approval  form is now under Scout Links.

McGruff the Dog Identi-Kits for Scouting  is on the sub menu below the Home page under Cub Links.

 The OA chapter page has some new activity on it, and a change in meeting dates and times.

Troop and Pack By-law examples have been added to the left under useful pages.  Every unit should have this or a set of operating rules , procedures or practices approved by the Parent committee, on how the unit will operate, as broad or specific as needed.

This new site will provide an easier and faster click through to the information you need to run the scout program in your unit.  It also provides for committee's to share information, for you to share info on your unit of interest to the Mustang District.  There is an area to share photos.
